Google Shopping Feed Template Download (CSV file + XML)

Download our example of a Google Shopping Feed Template in CSV and XML formats to set up your products in Google Merchant Center.

If you’re setting up your products in Google Merchant Center for Shopping Ads or free product listings, you’ll need to provide Google with a properly formatted product data feed.

This can be done in multiple formats—commonly XML (often in the RSS format) or CSV. In this guide, we’ll walk through a simple XML feed example and also give you a file you can download and use.

Understanding the XML/RSS Format

The RSS-based feed is an XML structure where each <item> contains the required (and optional) product attributes in Google’s namespace. You’ll notice tags like <g:id>, <g:title>, <g:description>, and so on. Each tag holds critical information about a product—such as its price, availability, link to your product page, and images.

An XML feed is often advantageous if your e-commerce platform automatically generates it, or if you have more complex product data that changes frequently. You can submit the feed to Google Merchant Center by providing a direct URL. Google will then periodically crawl this feed to keep your product data fresh.

Key Attributes to Include

  1. id – A unique identifier for your product.
  2. title – The product title.
  3. description – A concise and accurate description of the product.
  4. link – A link to the product page on your website.
  5. image_link – A direct link to the main product image.
  6. availability – For instance, “in_stock,” “out_of_stock,” or “preorder.”
  7. price – Your product’s price, typically followed by the currency code (e.g., USD).
  8. brand – The brand or manufacturer of the product.
  9. condition – Typically “new,” “used,” or “refurbished.”
  10. shipping – Details about shipping cost and times (optional but helpful).
